What to Do If You’re Claiming Through the Other Party’s Insurer

If the accident wasn’t your fault, here’s how to get your vehicle repaired quickly and correctly.

1. Get the Claim Number

Contact the at-fault party and ask for their insurance claim number.

2. Contact Their Insurer

Call the at-fault party’s insurer and provide them with the claim number. Let them know you're claiming as a third party.

3. Nominate Acclaim

Tell the insurer that you would like Acclaim Accident Repairs to handle the repairs.

4. Request a Link for Quote Submission

Ask the insurer to send a quote upload link directly to Acclaim, so we can submit our repair quote and images for assessment.

5. Ask Questions Early

If the insurer suggests a different repairer, call us before you agree to anything. We’ll explain your options.

6. Booking Repairs

Once the insurer has approved the quote, we’ll schedule your repairs.

7. Need a Replacement Car?

You can ask the insurer to provide a replacement vehicle, or we can assist you through Acorn Rentals , who will provide a car and bill the insurer directly — at no cost to you.
